Basia Cohen works with clients to drive high performance and effectiveness in financial operations and reporting with a focus on improving processes to increase accuracy, efficiency, and visibility. As Director of Financial Advisory Services, Basia excels at Revenue Reconciliation streamlining processes for increased automation, error reduction, and reduced monthly close cycles. She utilizes her Big Four firm experience to manage annual external audits, including proactively identifying accounting issues and focusing on pre-audit preparation for dramatically increased efficiencies.
Basia has 15 years of experience in audit and financial management and analysis for a variety of clients, from development stage companies to international corporations. Prior to 9Gauge Partners, she served as Senior Revenue Recognition Analyst for Borland Software Corporation, where she provided strategic consultation to the company’s international sales, legal, and support organizations to help structure deals to favorable revenue recognition in compliance with GAAP requirements. Basia has also served as Internal Process Manager for both Pepsi Bottling Group and Seaport Companies, and Senior Associate for PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP.
Basia holds an M.B.A. and M.S. in Accounting from Northeastern University Graduate School of Professional Accounting in Boston, MA, and a B.A. in Economics from Colgate University in Hamilton, NY. She completed an accounting internship with Coopers & Lybrand in London, England, and is a CPA licensed in Massachusetts.
