Austin Sign Works CEO rides 860 miles for ‘Race for Sophia’ charity
AUSTIN, Texas, June 16, 2016 — The entire 9Gauge Partners team sends out our best wishes for a safe ride to Jon Holmquist, the CEO of Austin Sign Works. Jon is cycling in the “Race Across the West” to help raise funds for his “Race for Sophia” charity – devoted to delivering a service dog for Sophia, a 4-year old girl diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy through the 4 Paws for Ability, Inc. fundraising program. Sophia is a happy, little girl despite years of treatment. Thanks to donors and charitable contributions, Jon has raised thousands for his cause, but is still on the path to reach his goal. A service dog will be life-changing for Sophia. Her dog will allow her to be independent and will comfort her during her seizures and medical procedures.
The race started on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 and spans 860 miles from California to Colorado. Jon will be riding alongside fellow racer, Bryan Krause, through countrysides, mountain climbs, and a scorching desert. The two will continue to accept donations for Sophia’s service dog until Thursday, June 30, 2016. Learn more details about Jon’s cause.
